Best time to go to Milan

Milan’s seasons are at completely opposite ends of the spectrum. The summer months are hot and humid, with temperatures regularly above 30°C in July and August, while in winter the mercury often struggles to get above freezing. April and October are probably the best months to visit, when the temperature’s usually sitting around the 20°C mark.

Health & Safety

You should take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover you while you’re away. It’s also a good idea to get a European Health Insurance Card – or EHIC – before leaving Ireland. Though it’s not a substitute for travel insurance, it entitles you to emergency medical treatment on the same terms as Italian nationals. It won't, however, cover you for medical repatriation, ongoing medical treatment or non-urgent treatment.
