Best time to go to Pisa

Pisa’s got a Mediterranean climate, so the weather stays fairly warm all year round. Temperatures tend to hit 30°C during July, August and September, and the spring and autumn months still bask in plenty of sunshine. Winters are mild and see more rain, so it’s worth packing an umbrella if you’re planning a visit at the beginning or end of the year.

Health & Safety

You should take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover you while you’re away. It’s also a good idea to get a European Health Insurance Card – or EHIC – before leaving Ireland. Though it’s not a substitute for travel insurance, it entitles you to emergency medical treatment on the same terms as Italian nationals. It won't, however, cover you for medical repatriation, ongoing medical treatment or non-urgent treatment.
