View All DealsHolidays to Bavaro focus on Caribbean-style R&R. A super-long beach, luxury hotels and chilled-out nights make it all about you-time.
Set on the Dominican Republic’s east coast, Bavaro is a small town with a lot to offer. For starters, its upscale hotels come with spas and infinity pools as standard. And then there’s the fabulous beach, where pure white sand stretches along the coastline for 10 kilometres, alongside turqoise waters.
Bavaro boasts one of the Caribbean's greatest strips of beach. Once you see the unspoilt sand backed by coconut palms and mangroves, you’ll know why. The sunloungers and palm-thatched umbrellas have relaxation written all over them, while brightly painted beach shacks line up the drinks and snacks. As for watersports, jet-skiing, windsurfing and scuba diving all make it onto the itinerary.
It's not all about lounging on the beach here. Bavaro also lays on plenty of sports and activities. The hotels have their own tennis courts, with coaching on hand for those who want to perfect their serve. Meanwhile, golfers have an 18-hole course at the Iberostate Bavaro Golf Club. And horse riding trips along the beach are really popular, too.
You'll find Del Este National Park within an hour’s drive of the resort. This subtropical forest is filled with over 100 types of birds, including the rare Hispaniolan parrot and brown pelican. It’s also a great place to see the 2,000-year-old drawings that were left by the ancient Taino tribe in the tunnels and caves here.
