View All DealsHolidays to Sidari take you to one of Corfu's liveliest resorts. But this buzzy town has a gentle side, with its secluded coves and inlets.
Probably the most famous destination on Corfu’s north coast, Sidari is certainly one of the liveliest. This one-time fishing village grew during the Eighties to become a veteran resort with beds for some 14,000 visitors. These days you’ll find a huge array of bars and restaurants on its busy main strip, but you’ve also got pretty, secluded coves and lovely coastal walks, too.
Sidari’s main beach is a 500-metre stretch of Blue Flag sand and shingle. The waters here are calm and shallow, and they come with a great line-up of watersports, including parasailing and diving. Plus you’ll get all the food and drink you need from the beachfront shops and restaurants. The resort also comes with 2 smaller beaches – one of them, Megali, is surrounded by rock pools.
When it comes to evening entertainment, you can certainly find fun outside your hotel. Sidari is a night owl that lays on the late-night bars and pubs in a major way. Those who like a show will find everything from Elvis tributes to karaoke. And with a multitude of sports bars, there’ll be no missing out on matches.
It’s less than an hour’s drive to the island’s capital, Corfu Town – or Kerkyra, as it’s also known. The big draw here is an old town with its fortress, churches and hidden garden squares. It dates from the 8th-century BC. And for a cosmopolitan fix, there’s the Esplanade, a central square brimming with cafés – the best ones for people-watching are in the Liston, a 19th-century Parisian-style building.
