View All DealsFly direct from Cork and Dublin airport for relaxing holidays in Nerja. This beautiful coastal town rests on the eastern tip of the Costa del Sol. So expect magnificent beaches, plenty of sunshine, and stunning seafront views.
Nerja caves are a five-minute drive east of the main town. Alternatively, hourly buses will drop you off and pick you back up. If you prefer to walk, it's a 30-minute meandering stroll along the footpaths with stunning views of the countryside. A group of locals discovered the caves in 1959, but experts think they're around five million years old. Take a free, 45-minute tour to explore this underground wonder. You'll get to see ancient stalactites, fascinating rock formations, and the traces of cave paintings made by early hunter-gatherer tribes.
Nerja cultural centre opened its doors in 1992. It's been entertaining the town's residents and its visiting holidaymakers ever since. Located near the centre of Nerja along Calle Granada, it boasts a full calendar of events, shows, and gigs. You can see live jazz trios, classical music recitals, and contemporary rock bands play on the main stage. There's also a 350-seater auditorium for theatre productions and stand up comedy shows. The exhibition space on the ground hosts regular exhibitions from local and international artists.
Nerja museum tells the story of how a small coastal village became a booming tourist destination. The interactive exhibitions trace Nerja's history from the late Palaeolithic era (around 20,000 years ago) right up to the birth of the modern tourist industry in the mid-1960s. The museum is on the corner of Plaza de Espana right behind the town hall. Parking is free, and the museum opens from 10.00am to 4.30pm, seven days a week.
