Holidays to Cala Gracio take you to a quiet little Ibiza town with a somewhat noisier neighbour. You’ve got two little family-friendly beaches on your doorstep, and the clubbing hub of San Antonio Town is just 10 minutes' drive down the road.
A quiet resort
Set on Ibiza’s west coast, Cala Gracio is a really chilled out, get-away-from-it-all kind of place. But the town comes with a bit of a twist. Its next-door-neighbour – which is a 10-minute taxi ride away – is none other than clubbing heavyweight San Antonio Town. As far as the beaches are concerned, though, this place comes with its own little duo.
Two little beaches
Of the resort’s two beaches, Cala Gracio is the biggest – though even that comes in at just 100 metres long. It’s set in a deep horseshoe cove, which makes for gentle waves and little or no current. The water's shallow, too – perfect for snorkelling around the bay’s rocky edges. You’ve got sunloungers here for hire, as well as loos, showers, a supermarket and a small bar.
Daytrips to Ibiza Town
Drive for less than half an hour and you’ll be in the island's capital, Ibiza Town. First up you’ve got the UNESCO-listed Dalt Vila – which means high town. This is the oldest bit of the place, where you’ll find a maze of cobbled streets and Gothic buildings surrounded by 6th-century walls. There’s a castle and cathedral to look round, as well as a few museums to dip into. Food-wise, you’ve got a smart marina which makes a good spot for a seafood lunch.
