You can choose your own pace on holidays to San Antonio Bay. Peaceful sandy beach retreats and relaxed bars are faced across the bay by the town's throbbing mega-clubs.
You can fly direct from Dublin to Ibiza in the Spanish Balearic Islands. Mellow San Antonio Bay faces due west and is an ideal spot for watching the island's spectacular sunsets. There are some quiet sandy coves, laidback bars and a host of waterfront restaurants. Across the bay is the town of San Antonio, known as the party capital of the Balearic Islands. Only 10 minutes away by road, the urban area is host to lots of lively bars, restaurants and clubs where you can pick up the pace.
The bay forms a necklace of small sandy coves with warm shallow water. There are beach kiosks where you can get a drink or a snack, and various watersports, like jet-skiing and wakeboarding. At Es Puet you can feed the fish from the jetty. Nearby Playa Port d’es Torrent is a popular snorkelling destination. You'll often find bars in the summer barbecuing sardines and other fish for an al fresco lunch.
You can drive to the island capital of Ibiza in only 20 minutes for a varied day out. You'll be able to shop at brand-name stores, eat at stylish restaurants and stay out late dancing at the mega-clubs. Standing out on the hill, the Dalt Vila is the old part of town. You can take some great pictures here of its 16th-century walls, medieval cobbled alleyways and castle. There's also a 14th-century cathedral, several museums and lots of smaller churches.
