Portals Nous is just a 15-minute taxi ride from the capital, Palma. The resort centres around a strip of white sand, flanked by cocktail bars and tapas restaurants. It's great for sports enthusiasts, being surrounded by well-equipped tennis clubs and close to one of Spain’s most well-known golf courses, Bendinat.

Superyacht marina

Very close to the town centre is Puerto Portals Marina. Large, expensive yachts dock here and the kerbs are often lined with Ferraris. Despite this high-end atmosphere, the marina is surprisingly affordable. Head to one of the rooftop bars for a cocktail – they’re much cheaper than in the town of Portals Nous itself. Food is similarly reasonable, so be sure to browse around and make the most of the atmosphere.
