Flying direct from Dublin, Cork or Shannon, holidays to Porto Cristo take you to a working fishing village with a relaxed atmosphere and world-class seafood. Plus, the famous Caves of Drach are just a five-minute walk away.
Porto Cristo is a fishing village on the east coast of Majorca. There’s a relaxed atmosphere here. Sunny days are spent taking life easy on the beach, and chilled-out evenings will see you sampling local paella at the seafront eateries. One of the island’s most popular spots – the Caves of Drach – is close by.
Porto Cristo’s beach is tucked into a sheltered bay right near the harbour. Its position means that the waters are calm, and ideal for swimming or riding in a pedalo. Sunloungers and parasols are available, and there’s a great selection of restaurants and cafés to make spending a whole day here easy. All along the coastline, you’ll find little bays and coves. If you’d like to experiment with beach days in different places, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
A 10-minute drive in a car or taxi will take you to Manacor. The town is most famous for its artificial pearl industry. You can take a tour of the factory and see this fascinating craft happening in real life. Once you’ve browsed the pearls, have a wander around the narrow roads and visit the Gothic church of Nostra Senyora dels Dolors.
