View All DealsFlying direct from Dublin, holidays to Playa Taurito are ideal for those who love beaches, watersports and great restaurants. This small Canary Island resort centres around a horseshoe bay with black volcanic sand and an ocean sunset.
Playa Taurito is a peaceful resort on the southwest coast of Gran Canaria, hidden between bustling Puerto Rico and trendy Playa Mogan. It has only a few stylish hotels perched on its rugged volcanic cliffs, along with a secluded beach opening onto the Atlantic. Playa Taurito feels like an exclusive party. There are entertainment options, largely centred around the resort’s hotels and a 150-seater auditorium venue. But for the most part, it’s designed for those who wish to relax on holiday. Partygoers can catch a taxi and go 10 minutes up the road to bustling Puerto Rico.
If you fancy something a little different for the whole family, behind the beach you’ll find a great waterpark called Playa Taurito Lido. There’s a lagoon-style pool here, and a range of white-knuckle water slides. You'll also find tropical gardens and an activity pool for smaller children. The resort’s hotels offer facilities such as a bowling alley, arcade games and a minigolf course.
If you get in the car and drive 10 minutes north, you’ll come to Playa Mogan. This town is known as ‘Little Venice’ due to its pretty canals and bridges. It also has a busy marina, filled with local seafood restaurants. If you’d like to do some shopping on holiday, head south to Puerto Rico. Three duty-free shopping centres attract visitors both day and night. Shops are open until late, and after midnight the nightclub scene really gets going.
