Holidays to Cala de Finestrat offer the excitement of Benidorm, without the hustle and bustle. Ideal for families, this cosy Costa Blanca village is a tale of two towns.
The African-inspired buildings and classic churches act as a scenic backdrop for Cala de Finestrat’s main attraction, its beach. The horseshoe-shaped bay creates calm waters which are suitable for families with small children. And with soft, white sands, this little beach hideaway is an ideal place to kick back and relax. Bars and restaurants serving up local beers and juices are nearby.
For anyone who prefers an on-the-go holiday in the great outdoors, Cala de Finestrat makes a good base. You can get to one of the tallest peaks in the region, Puig Campana, in 45 minutes by car. The mountain is popular with hikers during the cooler months, and rock climbers who tend to choose routes in the shade during the summer. Strolling around the local village feels like stepping back in time, with its winding cobbled streets and tiny tavernas.
Cala de Finestrat is close to some of Spain’s more bustling cities. You can get to Valencia in an hour and a half by car, and Benidorm in just 15 minutes. Located on the other side of the bay, Benidorm has earned its reputation as a major party town, and it’s easy to keep yourself entertained here. There are adrenaline-pumping theme parks, huge beaches, and plenty of shopping opportunities. And at the end of the day, you can unwind back in Cala de Finestrat.
