Best time to go to Germany

Germany’s weather is divided into distinctive seasons. Freezing cold winters, flowery springs and hot summers are the general gist here. July’s the hottest time to visit when temperatures tend to hover in the high 20s. Snow’s fairly common in the winter months, so make sure you layer up if you’re visiting the Christmas markets.

Passports & Visas

Health & Safety

You should take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover you while you’re away. It’s also a good idea to get a European Health Insurance Card – or EHIC – before leaving Ireland. Though it’s not a substitute for travel insurance, it entitles you to emergency medical treatment on the same terms as German nationals. It won't, however, cover you for medical repatriation, ongoing medical treatment or non-urgent treatment.
