Best time to go to Alanya

Temperatures in Turkey are sizzling for much of the year. As April rolls around in Izmir, the thermometer is already hitting 20°C and, when summer is in full swing, the mercury tops out at 30°C. The Bodrum peninsula, further to the south, features spring and autumn temperatures that average about 25°C and summer highs that rise to 30°C – thankfully the area's sea breezes help to cool things down a bit. In Dalaman, summer skies are always blue, the sun shines 12 hours a day, there’s virtually no humidity and temperatures often rise above 30°C. Things get even hotter in Antalya, where, in July and August, the mercury can reach 40°C, which is still bearable due to the area’s cooling sea breezes. Over the rest of the summer, as well as the spring and autumn months, the thermometer hovers between 30 and 35°C. Things do cool down somewhat in the winter, with temperatures averaging between 15 and 20°C.
