Best time to go to St Vlas

The sun shines virtually all the time during the summer months in Bulgaria. In July and August, temperatures regularly climb above 30°C and swimmers can enjoy waters that nudge the mid-20s. Even in spring or autumn, you’ll still be able to enjoy beach weather, with just a few rain showers a month and the mercury hovering around the low to mid-20s. Temperatures can cool down in the evenings, though, so it might be a good idea to pack a light jacket or jumper.

Health & Safety

You should take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover you while you’re away. It’s also a good idea to get a European Health Insurance Card – or EHIC – before leaving Ireland. Though it’s not a substitute for travel insurance, it entitles you to emergency medical treatment on the same terms as Bulgarian nationals. It won’t, however, cover you for medical repatriation, ongoing medical treatment or non-urgent treatment.
