View All DealsHolidays to Aghios Georgios North are all about embracing the slow life. Here you can kick back and enjoy the charm and beauty of rustic Corfu.
This little village, perched on Corfu’s northwest coast, takes you to the island’s rural side. Here you can kick back and unwind, surrounded by beautiful wooded valleys, cypress trees and olive groves. The village itself dishes up a clutch of houses and hotels, together with a few essential shops, bars and restaurants. Then you’ve got the real star of the show – the huge, golden-sand beach.
People say this wide, sweeping beach is one of the best and safest in Corfu. It’s got a full 5 kilometres of golden sands, and it’s a looker, too – cliffs surround the horseshoe bay, while pine-covered hills provide a pretty backdrop. The waters here are clean and clear, and there are umbrellas and sunbeds to rent.
You’re around 40 minutes from Corfu Town, the island capital. Here you’ve got a UNESCO-listed old town packed with narrow, cobbled streets. There’s also a 16th-century fortress, as well as plenty of museums and churches. These include the Church of Aghios Spyridon, which houses the relics of the saint in a golden shrine. After that, you might want to head over to the Liston, an Italian-style promenade lined with chichi cafés.
