    Bali Travel Advice

Best time to go to Bali

Like most tropical islands, Bali has two distinct seasons – rainy and dry. And it’s got a toasty average temperature of 30°C. The rainy season runs from October to March, and is defined by hot, humid temperatures and short, heavy downpours. May to October is referred to as ‘summer’ by the locals. This is dry season, so you can expect clear skies and cooler temperatures – although, the mercury rarely dips below the mid-20s. If you’re a surfer, this is also the time to catch some of the island’s best waves.

    Passports & Visas

You don’t need a visa to enter Indonesia for visits of up to 30 days. If you’re travelling to Indonesia for more than 30 days, you should apply for a visa before you travel, or get a visa on arrival at a cost of US$35, or the equivalent in Indonesian rupiah. This type of visa is valid for 30 days, and can be extended once (for a maximum of 30 days) by applying to an immigration office within Indonesia. Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of your departure from Indonesia. For the most up-to-date passport and visa info, visit www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/indonesia/entry-requirements.

    Health & Safety

You should take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover you while you’re away. It’s a good idea to visit your doctor a month or so before you travel for advice on vaccinations. For the latest health and safety information, visit www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/indonesia/health.
