View All DealsWedged between the big party hotspots of the Costa del Sol, holidays to Estepona take the best elements of both. Here, you'll find long sandy beaches, traditional tavernas, and sophisticated bars, all without the huge crowds.
Estepona has everything you’d expect of a Spanish seaside town. Whitewashed houses dressed in flowering bougainvillaea, sunlit plazas, and winding cobbled streets that lead to a golden shore. But you’d be mistaken for thinking this place sleepy. For all of Estepona’s laidback beach town charm, when the sun goes down it comes alive, thanks to its restaurants, bars and clubs.
Estepona has an enormous coastline. There are 17 beaches over 20 kilometres, so you won’t be fighting for room to lay down your towel. Head for El Cristo first. It's a Blue Flag beach with soft sand and clean, shallow waters. With access to sun-shaded loungers, watersports, restaurants, and small snack stands known as chiringuitos, you can spend the whole day here.
From Estepona, the Rock of Gibraltar is less than an hour’s drive away. Spend the day sightseeing here. Visit Europa Point, the southernmost tip of the island, the medieval Moorish Castle, and St. Michael’s Cave. Just don’t be startled by the wildlife. Barbary apes, Europe’s only native monkey, roam the streets of this isle caught between continents.
