View All DealsYou'll get a taste of the traditional on Bahia Feliz holidays, which you can mix in with more modern Playa del Ingles, just along the coast.
Bahia Feliz is part of a necklace of resorts hung on Gran Canaria’s south coast. This place gives you an authentic taste of the Canary Islands, with a quaint town square and a volcanic beach. For something more raucous, Playa del Ingles is a 15-minute drive away. And another five minutes will get you to Maspalomas and its grand dunes.
The town’s name means ‘happy bay’ in Spanish. And its cove doesn’t disappoint. Golden sands mingle with jet-black pebbles, cushioned by a cluster of palms behind. It’s a top spot for kite and windsurfing, too, with a centre right on the beach. If you like your sands supersized, meanwhile, the stretch belonging to Playa del Ingles links up with the one at Maspalomas to create one, giant belt.
Things go down quietly in Bahia Feliz. The pint-sized town square’s got a relaxed feel to it, with a handful of shops, pizzerias and tapas bars. There’s one exception to this rule, though – and that’s Garbo’s. At this 1920s-style theatre, the waiters sing and dance, while serving you a three-course meal. Fun-packed daytrips are easy, too – Western-themed Sioux City Park’s just five minutes’ drive inland.
