View All DealsFlying direct from Dublin, holidays to Playa del Ingles in the Canary Islands are centred around the beach – a vast stretch of yellow sand and dunes. The club and bar scene is also among the best in Gran Canaria, so party-loving crowds flock here from around the world.
Playa del Ingles is located right in the south of Gran Canaria. Tucked in between the more modest resorts of San Agustin and Maspalomas, it’s filled with hotels and apartment complexes, famous nightclubs, and a giant sandy beach. In the height of summer, the resort is heaving with young people wanting to party. However, it also boasts plenty of daytime activities, so it's popular with families.
The resort’s sandy beach spans almost three kilometres, or eight if you take into account neighbouring San Agustin and Maspalomas. You’ll find watersports options like jet-skis and windsurfing, and you can hire equipment near to the Annexo shopping centre. Running along the beach is a long promenade, packed with shops, snack bars and pubs.
Playa del Ingles is a shopaholic’s dream. You’ll find no less than 12 commercial centres, which offer plenty of opportunities for duty-free shopping. These sell everything from designer clothes to electronics. Many of these centres also house bars and pubs, which spring into action after dark. The Kasbah Centre has some of the hippest venues in the area, and Yumbo has a booming gay scene.
