Holidays to La Pineda are great for a little bit of everything. Spend time on golden sand beaches, take thrilling rides in theme parks, and tour the Gothic charms of Barcelona.
La Pineda has long been a favoured destination for holidaying Spaniards, in part because of its proximity to Barcelona. However, despite its popularity, La Pineda has managed to keep a more intimate, quieter feel than other spots along the Costa Dorada. If you’re after sun, sea, sand and a bit of authentic Spain, this is where you want to be.
The vast stretches of soft golden sand are the true draw of Costa Dorada. La Pineda lays claim to three beaches that unfold over 2 kilometres. Having been awarded the Blue Flag, it should come as no surprise that these beaches are pristine, and the waters translucent. There are plenty of umbrellas and sunloungers for hire, and watersports abound.
If the first thing La Pineda is known for is its beaches, then the second is its theme parks. It's home to Aquopolis, a waterpark filled with wave pools, rivers and rapids, and huge slides. Nearby is PortAventura, the largest theme park in Spain, which hosts plenty of stomach-dropping rollercoasters.
