Four regions
We travel to four regions in Turkey, which gives you around 30 resorts to choose from. In Antalya futuristic hotels share space with ruin-freckled beaches. Bodrum, meanwhile, switches between big beach resorts like Gumbet and secluded coves decorated with the odd hotel. Then you’ve got Dalaman — home to Olu Deniz, the Blue Lagoon and some spectacular paragliding territory. Finally, there’s family-friendly Izmir, which serves up beach hotels and waterparks well-loved by children — and adults.
Epic day trips
A last minute getaway to Turkey opens up the whole of the country. Bodrum, for instance, is a great springboard for travelling to the natural baths at Pamukkale. This fairy tale UNESCO World Heritage Site is carved into white limestone cliffs. Antalya, meanwhile, is the gateway to the 30,000-year-old Karain Cave. Age-old stalactites and stalagmites line the prehistoric site. Elsewhere, Roman and Ottoman ruins decorate the countryside.
