Best time to go to France

There’s never a bad time to nip over to France. Its neighbourly position to the UK means the seasons aren’t super different to ours, although you’ll find warmer temperatures in the South of France during the summer. The cities fill up over spring with café culture finding its feet again after the cold winter. Christmas is also a great time visit, when many towns and cities show off with Christmas decorations and traditional festive markets.

Passports & Visas

Health & Safety

You should take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover you while you’re away. It’s also a good idea to get a European Health Insurance Card – or EHIC – before leaving Ireland. Though it’s not a substitute for travel insurance, it entitles you to emergency medical treatment on the same terms as French nationals. It won’t, however, cover you for medical repatriation, ongoing medical treatment or non-urgent treatment.
